"Isadora dared to give freedom to movement, extended the boundaries within which the artist could move, and abolished the frontiers that had been sanctioned by custom. She opened the doors of the prisoners' cells. Fokine, the great Fokine, followed her footsteps and reached the peak. Before these two, the imagination and the temperament of each artist (of dance) had been repressed."
