Demeter Chiparus

Demeter Chiparus (Dimitriu Chiparusu, 1886-1947), Romanian sculptor who lived in Paris. His favoured technique was chryselephantine, the combination of bronze and ivory, in Art Deco style. His works in the late 1920's were influenced by Egypt. Most of his themes are dancers from the Russian Ballet, the French stage and early motion pictures.

Eugène Carrière

Eugène Carrière (1849-1906), French painter and lithographer, best known for his spiritual interpretations of family life and maternity. He also painted large canvases for the Sorbonne and the Hôtel de Ville, Paris, as well as portraits of famous men such as Verlaine, Daudet, and Edmond de Goncourt.
